“Fron an Unexpected Place
Rev. Chase Peeples
2 Kings 5:1-17

The story of the healing of Namaan is an important story in the Bible not only because of its significance in the Hebrew Bible but also because Jesus refers to it in the Gospel of Luke when he explains his ministry. The story reveals that God works through unexpected people in unexpected places. God speaks through a slave girl and in the then backwater country of Israel. If we in our own context want to see where God is at work, we should look not in the halls of power or the places of affluence but in unexpected places.
“Love is holy because it is like grace – the worthiness of its object is never really what matters.”
- 2 Kings 5:1 - 17
