No Matter Where You are on Life’s Journey…

...You are welcome here! Country Club Congregational United Church of Christ is an Open and Affirming (ONA) congregation. CCCUCC opens its doors to everyone whatever their gender, economic class, sexual orientation, nationality, ethnicity or difference in ability. Because of Christianity’s historic and ongoing oppression of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer people (LGBTQ), we decided over 20 years ago to publicly declare our support for LGBTQ rights. We are “open” to LGBTQ people and we “affirm” them as made by God. Today our church is made up of roughly half heterosexual people and half LGBTQ people.

CCCUCC is a Peace With Justice Congregation. We believe peace and justice are at the heart of Jesus’ teachings. We promote interdependence through economic, political and social justice. We seek to love life in all its diversity. We work for a sustainable earth and try to answer resentment and anger with the equitable distribution of the earth’s resources.

Dinner with UCC/DOC Missionary Elena Huegel

Wednesday May 4, 6:00 pm

On Wednesday, May 4, you are invited to share dinner and conversation with Global Ministries missionary Elena Huegel. Huegel has served 20 years in Chile as a missionary from Global Ministries, which is the joint international missions agency of the United Church of Christ and the Disciples of Christ. While in Chile, Huegel has worked at the Shalom Center, a non-profit foundation of the Pentecostal Church of Chile (IPC), a long-standing Global Ministries partner. The Shalom Center's mission is "to create a safe space through learning for transformation to facilitate peace education, environmental education and spiritual development in an integral way, and so strengthen the dignity and resilience of individuals and communities within the Pentecostal Church of Chile and society at the national and international levels." Her work has often involved working with individuals and groups persecuted under the Pinochet dictatorship. Come learn about Elena Huegal's experiences working for peace and justice in mutual partnership with Christians in Chile.
